Find your new exercise bestie in Pita! She is around 3 years old and we think she is a Belgian Malinois and Shepherd mix. This girl is always ready to hop in the car for her next adventure at your side! True to her breed mix, she is a very high energy dog and will need an active family ready to commit to training and working out Pita's mind and body every day. She needs a lot more than a couple walks around the neighborhood every day. She runs alongside her foster mom while she bikes for exercise and would love a family that enjoys daily hiking or looking for a daily running partner. Once she gets her exercise out, she is sweet and easygoing. Pita is very smart and has learned to heel on leash and several basic commands, including Sit, Down, Leave It, Wait, and Go to Your Bed. She tolerates the cats in her foster home but would love to chase them if given the chance. If she went to a home with kitties, they will already need to be dog savvy and she will need a strong pack leader that will make her mind her manners. She is still working on how to settle down and properly interact with other dogs. For now, she would do best as an only dog in her home, but she has made several dog friends outside of the home and enjoys going to the dog park and dog beach. Pita would also do best with a family that is home more often than not. She is still learning it's ok to be alone when her foster family leaves and what she should and should not chew on. Pita will need a confident, dedicated family ready to set firm boundaries and continue her training. In return, you will get a loving and loyal companion for life. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing.
