Can you get more handsome than Merle? This sweet boy is around 8 years old and looks to be a purebred English Pointer. He was found extremely underweight and scared but he is getting the TLC he needs in a loving foster home and he is thriving. He is starting to open up and is one of the cuddliest dogs his foster mom has ever met! He will lean into you for pets and rub his head on your lap. He does take about half an hour to warm up to newcomers and prefers to approach you on his terms. Also loud noises and sudden movements are very starling to him so he would likely do best with older, dog savvy children or no children in his forever home. However, he's quickly warmed up to both his foster mom and dad and he gets along great with the other two dogs in his foster home. While he cuddles and loves to go for walks with his foster dog siblings, he's not ready for dog parks or off-leash settings. Once you've earned his trust, Merle is a lover! He would rather be right next to you at all times if possible.

Merle is housetrained in his current foster home and sleeps quietly in his crate at night or in bed between his foster parents. He is quiet and generally well mannered, unless he sees something particularly tasty he'd like to swipe off the counter! Merle, true to his breed, does have a high prey drive so should not be in a home with any cats. He's looking for a family that understands his emotional needs and will give him the time, space and lots of love to settle in as a welcomed member of your family. If you are interested in meeting Merle and making him a part of your family, then fill out an adoption application on our website today! We recommend completing the application process and connecting with a adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps.

Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing.
