Petite Yasmin has pretty red, golden and cream fur and a gentle, soft heart. Around 1 year old, Yasmin looks and acts like a Spaniel and Chow Chow mix. Although young, Yasmin came from a hoarding situation where she was mistreated and never got the socialization she needed as a puppy. She is still figuring out that humans can be trusted and her place in the pack. She takes time to warm up to people at first and isn't a dog that is going to fall in love with you at first sight. She is wary of strangers, men, and kids running around and playing. Right now, she would do best in a predominately female household and with a family that can commit to continuing working with her on her "stranger danger". Once you win her trust, she takes treats gently from your hand, greets you warmly with a wagging tail, and loves to roll over for tummy scratches. Her favorite thing is to cuddle up beside you or on your lap on the couch. A family that lets his girl up on the couch and bed is a must - she can be independent, preferring to come to you on her terms, but she has turned out to be quite the snuggle buddy when given the choice!

Yasmin is learning to walk on leash and enjoys her walks in quieter neighborhoods. She's a bit of a homebody and prefers running around her own backyard and spending all day snuggling on the couch watching movies with you rather than going to dog parks, on hikes or on other grand adventures. She is housetrained in her current foster home. Because she is not 100% comfortable on leash and sensitive to her surroundings, she would do best in a home with a secure backyard of her own. She is an agile girl that can climb and jump with ease so should not be left in the yard unsupervised at first. She needs some encouragement to go into her crate but once she's in there, she sleeps quietly through the night and is fine left home alone for a few hours at a time. She also wouldn't mind sleeping in bed with you! Yasmin gets along with dogs that respect her space upon first meeting them. She likes to run around the yard and play with them. She is very observant and benefits from watching her foster dog siblings for cues on "how to dog" and interact as a family dog. She has been nonreactive around dog savvy cats and respects their space but may chase a fearful cat that runs away from her. Her ideal home is a quieter, dog experienced home with no young children and without a lot of people and kids coming and going. She would love a dog sibling and they should be calm, balanced, and well mannered. If you are ready to make Yasmin a part of your family, then fill out an adoption application on our website today!
