Chessie arrived with just one newborn puppy after giving birth in a local shelter. Just a pup herself, she had to learn quickly how to be a mom. She is a tall lean girl with a bouncy personality and is about 8 months old. It appears she lived outside prior to arriving with LAM as she was not familiar with living in a home and lacked manners. She has learned to respond to commands and to walk on leash, and she is now great on leash and loves to go on her walks. Chessie will need an active family who wants to run with her or take her on faster paced longer walks. She loves the water and running in the yard is her favorite pastime. She runs back and forth and throws the ball in the air herself and then chases it or runs around with the ball in her mouth. She has learned to make her own fun. She would love an experienced family who will continue to build her up to be an even greater dog. She is still growing a bit and and we believe she will add at least 10 to 15 more pounds. She will make you smile and give you a reason to get up and get going in the morning. If you think you’re ready to add to your family by adopting Chessie, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps.

Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog.
