Labrador Retriever

Waverly

Waverly is a lovely white Lab with a sweet and gentle heart. She is around 2 years old and came from a shelter where she was turned in as a stray with her sister. Waverly is a shy, unsure girl who is gaining confidence in her foster home and is learning how to be an inside pup. She has come a long way in discovering the benefits of living inside and overcome many challenging new things but will need a patient, understanding home that will continue to work with her and make her home a safe place for her. Everything is new and a little scary to this girl; she needs time to settle in and get used to new environments. She would do better in a quieter home and neighborhood with her own yard and space. She is a little unsteady on tile floors so would do better in a home with rugs and carpets for her to walk on.

Waverly is good with other dogs once she meets them and would be a great second dog for a family looking for a companion for their first dog. She displays no separation anxiety and has been left home alone for up to seven hours with no issues. She is very calm for a 2 year old Lab. Waverly would likely be a calming influence on other pets. Additionally, it would be helpful for her to learn how to be a family dog from another dog as well as how to play with toys and with other dogs. Therefore, Waverly will need a home with another dog in her forever home.

Waverly is housetrained in her current foster home. She has good house manners, does not counter surf and shows no resource guarding. She walks very well on leash and enjoys going for walks. Once she knows you, she will become your shadow and happily and quietly follows you around the house.
