Five puppies rescued from the fires but need your help today!

Surviving the LA Fires… But Lost Along the Way

Five precious Labrador puppies—just 5 weeks old—escaped the devastating LA fires. A person from San Diego drove to pick them up, promising to foster them and help find loving homes. But within days, they gave up.

Instead of reaching out for help, the puppies were passed off to someone in Calexico. What was meant to be a safe place became silent suffering.

We received an urgent plea from a trusted friend who saw these pups firsthand. She found them living in filth, thin and frail, with barely any food or water. The smallest pup isn’t using her front leg—and appears to be broken. Unable to fight for food she is at most risk.

These babies have lost:

Their home

Their mama

Their family

Now, they’re on the brink of losing their chance at life.

Today we can make a profound change.

We are ready to rescue them—but with recent unexpected medical rescues we are financially stretched to our limit. If we rescue them we need to be able to give them the care they need.

These puppies will require immediate veterinary care, nurturing, and time to heal—inside and out.

Can we raise at least half of the $10,000 needed for their care by Tuesday evening?

Our Volunteers are ready to make the life saving drive to bring them home.

Huge Milestone! 16,000 Dogs Saved

As we close out 2025, we’re celebrating a huge milestone — 16,000 dogs saved.

Since 2011, Labs and More has been a lifeline for dogs in need, rescuing dogs from shelters and uncertain futures. This year’s milestone is more than a number. It represents hope restored, second chances given, and thousands of families made whole.

With over 250 dogs and puppies currently in our care, our mission remains unwavering: to provide medical attention, rehabilitation, and the support of compassionate fosters so every dog has the chance at a brighter future.

At our adoption events, every ring of the bell marks another life saved, another new beginning, another joyful chapter, another heart healed.

We are a grassroots, 100% volunteer-run organization powered by people just like you, people who care enough to make a difference. Thank you for standing beside us, lifting up these dogs, and helping us build brighter futures across San Diego and Southern California.

Here’s to gratitude for every life saved this year and to the many more we will save together in the years ahead.

Every year, countless dogs—pregnant mothers, abandoned puppies, and those with severe medical conditions—are left to fend for themselves. We refuse to turn away.

In 2025, we will save our 16,000th dog, with so many more to help!

Bark in the Barn runs from May 1 to May 12 at 8pm and is our Annual Virtual Fundraising Event, an online auction and Fund-A-Need event that will help us bring them home.
